The following story seems more aimed at the parent’s coming to grips with a change in income. Kids adjust better than most parents realize, but it’s the parents that have the more difficult time of accepting reality. 

What you can do with your kids is tell them that for a while things are going to be different. “In some families, that means you may need to say there are not going to be so many Christmas presents under the tree. In others, it may mean that you have some serious changes to make. It may mean that mom or dad is going to be home more, and that in itself is a big change.”

Of course Michigan, in particular, is taking the brunt of the auto related job losses. Help, psycological and economical are goin to be vital to those most affected.

In January, Comair’s fleet is expected to be about 117 planes, down from the current 120 and down from 164 planes in 2005.
